Osteopath Dr Fiona Edwards aims to provide each individual patient with the best, safest and most effective Osteopathic treatment. Dr Fiona Edwards completed 5 years of full-time study at Victoria University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science), and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy). She has worked with a number of highly respected osteopaths and other medical and allied health practitioners in Melbourne.
Fiona specialises in treating athletes of all sports and their associated sports injuries. Coming from a sporting background herself - having played State League 1 hockey, indoor hockey at a state level for many years, as well as swimming, running, gym and yoga, Fiona aims for the patient to recover from their injury as quickly as possible, with minimal time off from their sport. Fiona has previously worked as a trainer at a football team, and is regularly involved with the St Bernard Cricket Club.
Dr Teneille Maloney completed her Osteopathy degree at RMIT University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complimentary Medicine) and Master of Osteopathy, in which she conducted a research project investigating the effects of osteopathic treatment on chronic pain patients.
Teneille has worked in several busy multi-disciplinary clinics in Melbourne, and enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions - including managing both acute and chronic pain, arthritic pain, scoliosis, headaches and migraines. Teneille enjoys seeing her patients benefit from osteopathic treatment by reducing the patient's discomfort levels and thereby enhancing their quality of life. Teneille is passionate about expanding her osteopathic knowledge through further studies, specifically in the field of obstetric osteopathy.
Dr Sofie Kotsakidis has recently completed her Osteopathic studies at Victoria University, having graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (Osteopathy), and Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). Sofie treats a broad range of conditions and uses a wide variety of Osteopathic techniques, which are tailored to each individual patient, and she applies the osteopathic principles to each patient - treating the body as a complete unit. She will not just focus on the area of pain, but will thoroughly address any underlying causes to prevent re-occurrence of the injury.
Sofie takes a particular interest in treating and assisting in the management of many conditions, including tension headaches, menstrual pain, and long standing chronic conditions such as neck pain and lower back pain. Sporting injuries are also of interest to Sofie as she has played a high level of representative State basketball. Sofie has recently completed a Neuromuscular Dry Needling course which aims to treat a wide variety of conditions such as arthritis and repetitive strain injuries.
Dr Daniel Wood really enjoys helping and improving the health of his patients. He has a positive and enthusiastic approach to treating his patients and receives his greatest satisfaction assisting them to return to a healthy and pain free life. He studied at Victoria University, having graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (Osteopathy), and Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy).
Daniel has a keen interest in treating sports and posture related injuries striving to help his patients return to health as quickly as possible. He enjoys working with patients who wish to take an active involvement in their own recovery and endeavours to empower all his patients with the skills to be able to do this. He has the long term and continuing health of his patients at heart.
Daniel enjoys a wide range of sports and activities including basketball, gym work, golf, mountain bike riding and jogging. He has also been involved in work with local football clubs as a sports trainer working to treat and manage acute sporting injuries.
All osteopaths at Ascot Vale Osteopathy are registered with the Osteopathy Board of Australia, are members of the Australian Osteopathic Association, and are registered to treat WorkSafe, TAC and DVA patients.
